Matt works for a fortune 500 company as a Sr. Project Manager in IT. Project Management, as a profession, allows Matt to use his skills and experience with business acumen, leadership, & technology. In his spare-time he continues to pursue the American Dream of managing a portfolio of online businesses.
Review my Web Businesses and the theories they are testing.
Matt believes a lot in the saying, "you have to know where you've been to know where you are going." He has traveled to many places but his foundation started growing up in North Dakota.
In January 2008, Matt took my family back to ND for a family occasion. The
temperature never did get above zero degrees. They woke up early for church on Sunday morning and the air temperature was -22° with a MUCH colder wind chill.
It is difficult for many to fathom how cold that was but the point Matt made was, "if you can make here [ND], you can make it anywhere" (obviously tongue-in-cheek). This demonstrates the durability that people must possess in life. In addition, cold, poor health, bad luck, etc will happen in life. It is key to keep your bearings and hold strong the virtues that you have developed throughout your life.
Living in Kansas has presented another unique set of challenges. Summer 2008 has recorded some of the worst weather on record; most notably the flooding in the upper midwest and the number in tornados reported in Kansas.
In May 1999, Matt and Jess experienced Kansas tornados first hand. They only lived in our first house about 8 months when a tornado involuntarily relocated them. The only part left of their house was was a foundation and one closet: The closet where Matt's mother in-law was riding out the tornado. I always feel blessed but that day was special.
